GENERAL INFORMATION
Children must be kept at home when they
are ill.
A child must be free
of fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before being allowed
to return to school. If your child returns before that time period,
you will be called to pick up your child. If you have any question
about whether your child should be at school, take him/her to the
school clinic. The school nurse is available beginning at 7:30 am.
Any questions or concerns should be directed to the school nurse
at
832-668-8405.
Teachers
will screen a child's request to see the nurse. Students who have
a stomach ache, earache, headache, or toothache will be allowed
to call a parent from the classroom to determine whether the child
will stay in class or go home. Students will not be allowed to go
to the nurse to "rest" or "lay down". If a student
has a fever, vomits, soils pants or is injured, he will be sent
to see the nurse. If an injury or illness occurs at home that is
of concern, please see your family physician first. Our school nurse
is available only to dispense prescribed medication or treat incidents
of illness or injury occurring at school.
