SWAT
"Students Who Assist Teachers"
Chosen for characteristics of leadership, courtesy,
dependability, respect, and behavior.

These students act as patrols in the hallway, as well as help
teachers in the gym, music room, library, and computer lab.

The Dabbs Elementary Student Council has a long-standing tradition of being a school and community service organization. Third, fourth, and fifth graders elect classroom representatives who meet regularly to develop projects that will benefit the school and the Deer Park community.? Student Council reps assist grandparents on Grandparents Day, hold an annual food drive for needy families, provide assistance to speakers on Career Day, and a variety of other activities. Teacher sponsors facilitate the students as they work on service projects and fundraisers. The Dabbs Student Council teaches civic responsibility and pride in working for the benefit of others.
