Overview

The goal of my internship is to employ the skills and concepts I have learned through the courses I have taken in the Instructional Technology Master’s program at The University of Houston-Clear Lake.  I will be implementing my internship at Deepwater Junior High in the Deer Park I.S.D.  My supervisor will be Terri Armendariz, Technology Coordinator.

 

Internship Site Description

Deepwater Junior High is located in Pasadena, Texas, although it is within the Deer Park I.S.D.  It is 80% low SES with about a 60% minority population.  Grades six through eight are taught at this campus. 

 

My internship will be focused on, sixth grade students, with abilities ranging from limited English skills, special education students to regular students, and gifted/talented students.

 

Skills and knowledge expected to be learned during internship

-          Development of Web quests

-          Development of WebPages

-          Development of technology lessons

 

Learning Outcomes

Through this experience, I will learn to incorporate a variety of multimedia lessons incorporating my district’s and TEA’s curriculum.  I plan to expose my students to an assortment of technology projects that will be interesting, challenging and rewarding.  Some of the products/projects to be developed include:
