Welcome to the Parkwood Elementary website! This site is designed to provide you with helpful information that will assist you in becoming more familiar with our school. As a Texas Education Agency “Recognized” school, we are dedicated to providing a quality educational program through our committed, knowledgeable staff and a rigorous academic program that stresses high expectations for every child. Literacy for every child is our focus, and we work hard to make sure our students are reading on grade level by the time they leave us after second grade. In addition to our basic program, our school offers a variety of reading support programs, along with specialized instruction for students who have English as a second language. Education is our primary goal, but we also strive to make our school a safe, nurturing environment where learning is fun and every child feels he or she can make a positive contribution. As you can probably tell, I am very proud to be a part of Parkwood Elementary. Educating children is a tremendous responsibility, and we are honored to accept the challenge.

We at Parkwood Elementary School also share the motto of "Be nice and work hard." Not only are our students encouraged to follow this motto, but also every staff member is encouraged to follow this motto. We believe a positive learning environment helps everyone to do their best!
