DPHS North Campus

The foundation for your future

Director - Sara Hance

Sara Blanchard is beginning her fourth year of teaching at Deer Park High School as the Director of the Deer Escorts and dance instructor at North Campus. Ms. Blanchard is a graduate of Friendswood High School where she was Grand Marshall of the Wranglerettes Drill Team her senior year.

Ms. Blanchard’s first two years of college were attended at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. At Kilgore, she was a member of the world-famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. Ms. Blanchard was also a member of the Rangerette’s elite dance company, Swingsters, and was chosen each year as a featured soloist for their annual show, Revels. Her performance credits as a Rangerette include two Dallas Cowboy games, the 2001 Red River Junior College Bowl half-time performance, the 2001 Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children’s Parade in Dallas, two South Western Bell Cotton Bowl pre-game and half-time performances, the 2002 Target/Marshall Field’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, the 2002 and 2003 Kilgore Dance Concerts and the 2003 Governor’s Inaugural Parade in Austin, Texas.

After completing two years at Kilgore, Ms. Blanchard attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the 2003-2004 UT Pom Squad. While in Austin she also performed with Steel Dance Company, an eclectic dance group. After a year in Austin Ms. Blanchard decided that her heart belonged in Houston. She returned home and completed college at The University of Houston receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance.
When she is not teaching, Ms. Blanchard enjoys spending time with family and friends. However, her 2nd passion (under dance of course) is the thrill seeking adventure of antique shopping.

“The journey between who you once were,

and who you are now becoming,

is where the dance of life really takes place.”
