Location: The Deer Park Independent School District is located in the Harris County industrial area along the Houston Ship Channel. The San Jacinto Battleground is located within the school district. Deer park is bounded by the Goose Creek, La Porte, Pasadena, Channelview, Clear Creek, and Galena Park School Districts.

 

Size: The current population of the school district is about 60,000. The enrollment is approximately 12, 700 students with 1,880 employees working for the district. The area of the district is approximately thirty-nine (39) square miles.

 

Schools: The district has eight elementary schools (five serving kindergarten through grade 5, one serving pre-kindergarten, one serving kindergarten through grade 2, and one serving grade 3 through grade 5), four junior high schools (grades 6-8), a 9th grade campus, a high school campus for grades 10, 11, 12, and an accelerated high school campus. Each school has a central library, a gymnasium and a cafeteria. School plants are modern, spacious, well maintained, and air conditioned.

 

Contract Release: Persons who have contractual employment with other Texas schools districts are considered to be eligible for employment with Deer Park for the period from April 1 to July 1.
