Superintendent’s Welcome

 

On behalf of our Board of Trustees and all Deer Park employees, welcome to Deer Park ISD. 

 

It is nearly impossible to give you a complete impression of our school district in just a few paragraphs, but I will share a few of the countless highlights.

 

First, safety is our highest priority.  Outstanding instruction can’t take place if students and employees don’t feel safe, so we continually work to secure our schools.  I’m proud to say that DPISD is regularly ranked by Niche as one of the safest Districts in the greater Houston area.  We credit our safety record to our students, employees, and community members, who are active partners in keeping our schools safe.

 

Second, instruction is our business, and that starts with providing a wide-ranging variety of instructional opportunities in core subjects as well as fine arts, career and technical programs, athletics, and more.

 

Third, our team is second to none!  We have outstanding teachers, support employees, and administrators, and this diverse group has a common goal: to see every student succeed.

 

Fourth, the District has earned a Superior Rating from the state’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas for the 19^th consecutive year.  This means that we operate our schools responsibly, which means we are able to maintain our facilities and provide competitive employee salaries.

 

Finally, our schools are a reflection of our community, which balances family values and traditions with an instructional program based on proven techniques combined with the latest research.  It’s the best of both worlds.

 

As a DPISD graduate with over 25 years as an employee here, I admit that I’m a little biased.  So, don’t take my word for it.  Experience DPISD for yourself.  This website provides an overview of our District, but if you really want to see our mission in action, visit our social media.  There, you will see our students and Team Deer Park members actively participating in exciting learning environments.

My commitment to our stakeholders is this: we will always make decisions that we feel are best for students.  We will do our best.  I can’t guarantee that we will never make mistakes, but, if we fall short of expectations, we will do our best to learn from them.
