School Policy for Illness

GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES:
Children with an infectious or contagious disease should stay home until the danger of transmitting the disease has passed.

FEVER: (100.0 DEGREES or greater): student must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school.

STREP SORE THROAT: re-admit after 24 hours from date antibiotic treatment started.

HEAD LICE: re-admit when student is free of live bugs. 

VOMITING or DIARRHEA: your child should stay at home if they have these symptoms during the night or in the morning.

PINK EYE (CONJUNCTIVITIS): re-admit with doctor's written statement or 24 hours after medication begun.
