A Very Busy Year

October 18th, 2007 by Mrs. Thomas

Boy have we been working hard in Kindergarten.  Our class has started learning our alphabet letters and sounds.  We have already discussed Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ff, Gg, Ii, Mm, Rr, and Tt.  Next week we will be working on the letters Oo and Ss.  Parents, please review all these letters and sounds with your child.  This will really help to reinforce them and help the students with their reading and writing.

Every student in our class has their book bag with their Guided Reading Books.  Remember to have your child read the books in their bag to you every night and sign their reading log so we have a record of when they read.  Remember, reading is just like soccer and baseball.  The students can’t get any better unless they practice, practice, practice.  With your help, we will have your child reading and reading  before you know it.

Next week is a very busy week for all of us in Kindergarten.  On Thursday, we have Fall Rotation Day.  The students will be rotating to each teacher’s class to participate in a fall activity.  We will be making Oreo Spiders, Leave Men, Bat Kabobs, and several other exciting items.  Come back to visit this site to see pictures of our students in action.

Don’t forget that Friday is a Teacher Inservice.

Enjoy your weekend.

Welcome to Kindergarten!!!
