The Student Council will meet and vote on Teacher Grant request. Teachers apply for items they need for their classroom. The Student Council members then vote on which ones to fund. With budgets getting tighter all the time this provides teachers one more way to get something extra for their students and classroom.

The Student Council took on a great project in October. The students participated in Heavenly Hats. This organization was started by a 15 year old cancer patient. The students at DPE paid $1 to wear their own hat one day in October. The day was finished off with a Heavenly Hats Parade around the track. The proceeds were then sent to the Heavenly Hats Organization to purchase new hats for cancer patients. Deer Park Elementary won the 1st place trophy for collecting the most money. Congratulations to all the cairing kids and teachers that contributed.
