Technology Update

March 10th, 2008 by sschatzke

Dear Teachers,

New computers should be here before the end of the year.  However, you MUST BACK UP YOUR FILES! You can back them up to the server (staffshare) or you can use a disk or pin drive. Technology will be taking your old computers and you will not have access to your hard drive once they are gone.  It is your responsibilty to take care of your own files.  However, If you need help saving your files to a disk, I will be happy to help in any way.  Just let me know either by email or this blog and I will show you how to do it.

Technology training for this month will take place on Friday, March 28.  We will have a guest trainer to help us with using the whiteboard and the software that goes with it.  Each hands-on interactive session will take 45 minutes.    The software package is called Easiteach and it will automatically be installed on the new teacher computers.   This training will apply to everyone.  Even if you do not have the whiteboard you will still be able to use the great software package.

If you have any questions or concerns please leave a comment on this blog, as other teachers may have the same question.  I  update this blog daily.

So, remember to back up your files ASAP!!! I will let you know when I have specific information as to exact dates when KPlus will be changing out the computers.

Teachers and Technology

It has been a long but extremely productive year!  We all have been working so hard.  We have had several trainings about blogging and some teachers have started to blog with students! We will continue with the blogging but, we will have a training very soon introducing the new Interactive Whiteboard and software that is in the science lab.  That will happen  either  Feburary 29 or March 28 training.   I have added a DPE blog spot on the DPE home page.  Please let me know if you would like a link to your blog up there too.   Please post any comments or questions about anything related to technology and or integrating technology into your content in the classroom.  I will find the answers for you.  I am here to help.
