Special Services

Opening day of school at San Jacinto Elementary Special education is defined as specially designed instruction provided in a special education program or regular education setting with modifications, special education support, supplementary aids, assistive technology, and other special arrangements.

Programs for students in Deer Park ISD with special needs are individually designed and implemented in order to best meet the student's needs. Most students are served on their home campus in the general education classroom with support from special education personnel which may include related services, visually impaired services, adapted physical education, in-class instructional facilitation, psychological services and counseling.

Special education services should be provided to eligible students in accordance with federal law and regulations, state statutes, and state rules and regulations. To be eligible for special education services, a student must have been determined to have one or more of the following disabilities:
