David Dobson was born in Humble, TX.  He started band in 6th grade playing the baritone under the direction of Leroy Osman at Huffman Middle School.  In high school David was in band under the direction of Jonathan Lawles where he switched over to tuba and stayed there throughout high school.  He graduated from Huffman High School in May of 1998 ready to pursue a career as a music teacher.    In college he studied Tuba under Robert Daniel.  He was also a part of the Sam Houston State Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra.  He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in music education and a minor in tuba performance in May of 2004.  David began his career at Bondy where he taught for 4 years.  He is a part of the Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Pasadena Philharmonic.  David has a loving wife, Heather, who teaches in the Deer Park Independent School District as well and a son named Aaron.
