A good number of retail stores in our general area offer stringed instruments for rental. Some of our local stores are among the best and most reasonable in the entire country and we encourage you to use them.

Please do NOT rent an instrument for your child from a store that does not service or guarantee their products, does not carry parts, and/or has no sales or repair people who know anything about stringed instruments. What they are trying to get you to rent, lease, or buy may not be a bargain, after all.

Deer Park ISD has a small stock of Violas, cellos, and basses in various sizes which may be used by students enrolled in DPISD orchestra classes. There is a classroom usage fee of $50.00 per instrument for a student to be able to use one of these instruments in class during a school year, rather than supply their own. This is half the amount charged by neighboring Districts. If a bassist or cellist wants to have another instrument to take and keep at home for practice purposes, an additional fee of $50.00 is required for that second instrument.

Forms required for renting these instruments are available from your Orchestra Director. There are special considerations given for DPISD students on free or assisted lunch plans.
