Kelly Lawrence - Department Chair
Kelly Lawrence is currently in her seventh year at Deer Park High School - South. She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from The University of North Texas. After spending ten years teaching English and Theatre at Highland Park High School, Kelly made her way to Deer Park, where she has been since 2002. In addition to directing numerous productions during the course of the school year, Ms. Lawrence is also the head director of the UIL One Act Play. Any resemblance Ms. L may have to Salma Hayek is purely coincidental.
Directing Credits: Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth Did It, Everyman, Grand Hotel, Dearly Departed, The Odd Couple (Female Cast), Godspell, The House of Blue Leaves, Little Shop of Horrors, The Day They Shot John Lennon, and Seussical.
UIL One Act Play Directing Credits: The Dybbuk (State Alternate), Pantaglaize (Regional Finalist), Twelve Angry Jurors (State Alternate), Found a Peanut (Area Finalist), Grand Hotel (Area Finalist), The Marriage of Bette and Boo (District Finalist), and It's All True (Regional Finalist), Clothes for a Summer Hotel (shanked at Zone), and The Actor's Nightmare (State Alternate).

Christopher Irwin - Technical Director
Chris Irwin is currently in the midst of his ninth year teaching at Deer Park High School - South Campus. (I know...nine years is so hard to believe...he looks so young!) Irwin holds a Bachelors degree from Texas A&M University in College Station. Deer Park is his only stop on the teaching tour. After 5 years of teaching world history and US Government (AP) and helping out with the theatre department, the school offered him the position of technical director for the department. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Irwin is also the manager for the Performing Arts Center.
Directing Credits: Terra Nova, The Odd Couple (Male Cast), Death of a Salesman, Over the River and Through the Woods, and What I Did Last Summer.
