COLLECT YOUR DATA

Student Activity – Ferris Wheel

1.  Connect the wheel to the ground background.

2.  Mark a position on the wheel with a piece of masking tape. 

3.  Measure the distance from the masking tape straight down to the ground.

4.  Record the distance on your Excel table.

5. Turn the wheel counter-clockwise to the next mark and measure.

6.  Repeat this process until the masking tape returns to its original position.

7.  After all the data have been collected, use Excel to create a graph of your data.
