Locally, Rohm and Haas has three plant sites, including a manufacturing plant in La Porte and two plants in Deer Park. Rohm and Haas employs more than 1,100 people in East Harris County.
The Educational Partnership between Rohm and Haas Texas and San Jacinto Elementary was initiated in the late eighties. More than 75 employees annually provide time for various student assistance activities, which included tutoring students through our PAL program, Career Days, a Multicultural Awareness Day and more. Rohm and Hass purchase Weekly Readers for all San Jacinto Elementary students. They also pay the salaries of Deer Park High School students to work every afternoon in our school. This positive initiative is beneficial to students, teachers and Rohm and Haas Texas employees.
