SJE Organizations and Events

We are very proud of our San Jacinto Elementary organizations and yearly events. They bring our students, teachers and families closer together and allow much parent involvement.

Student Council: This consists of 4th and 5th graders voted democratically by their peers. They share many tasks throughout the year. They also help collect food during the holidays making sure many families are helped as needed. They also collect and count ink cartridges to gain extra technology items for SJE. Please send any used cartridges to SJE from your home or office.

SJE Music : Music instruction at San Jacinto Elementary is provided for grades 1-5 every day. Each student attends music class for 30 minutes of instruction. Grades 1-5 are taught in the music rooms and Kindergarten music is held in the multi-purpose room.
An extra-curricular choir is offered for grades 4 and 5 called the San Jacs. The choir rehearses before school in the fall semester and performs programs in the fall and spring. The San Jacs perform at San Jacinto Elementary and also at community functions. For futher information view our website: www.dpisd.org/~sje_music/

School Guards: Coach Bezdek heads up the guard program at SJE. It consists of 4th and 5th graders. They have many responsibilities including keeping our halls safe.

Box Tops For Education: General Mills products offer 10 cents for every box top we collect. This really adds up for SJE. It is a great way for us to earn extra money for our school. Please send any of these you have for SJE. SJE also supports many community events such as the Jim Keathan Fun Run, Relay for Life, Papa John's Pizza Night, and the PTO Skate nights.
