Seniors have TWO days to visit the colleges they are serious about attending. Juniors, you have one day. Make sure you return with a letter on the school letterhead stating you were there for a visit, dated (not on a weekend date) and a signature. You can ususally obtain this from the admissions office.
Visit the website of the college you are interested in attending--or get into your Naviance account for access to your college's website! Then schedule a visit to SEE the campus.

There are MANY sources for scholarships, this is just one. Log on to your NAVIANCE account for a large database of scholarships. Another place you should search for scholarships is the actual college you will be attending, your parents' employers, organizations you've participated in, etc. There are so many FREE (never pay for one) search engines out there (Cappex, Peterson's, Fastweb, etc). 019 Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers
This scholarship is for prospective teachers who plan to enter an eligible teacher preparation program at a Raising Texas Teachers partner university. See the website for participating Texas universities. You must also be committed to teaching in a majority-economically disadvantaged school OR in a shortage subject area (math, science, bilingual, or special ed) in a Texas public school. The GHCF administers many unique scholarships. There may be one on the list that you are eligible for. If so, create an account then follow the directions to apply for the scholarship you're interested in.
096 Ron Carter Clear Lake Achievers Scholarship
The Ron Carter Achievers Scholarship is for US college-bound seniors. Selection is based on academics, leadership, character, and other requirements. Pick up an application (or print from below) and see if you qualify. I will be submitting applications to Ron Carter biweekly, beginning the end of January, ending in April. So bring your completed application to me asap.
107 Elaine Chapin Fund - Multiple Sclerosis Scholarship
The Elain Chapin Fund offers senior students who have been diagnosed with MS, or who have a parent/close family member with MS, a scholarship opportunity. For more information, see the link below. Pick up an application in the Go Center and return to Mrs. White By April 25, 2019.
112 PONY Baseball/Softball Alumni Scholarship
If you played PONY league baseball or softball for a minimum of two years (Pony League, Colt League and/or Palomino League), you may want to apply for this scholarship. Read all the requirements when you pick up an application in the Go Center. Return all required documents to Mrs. White by April April 25, 2019.
115 Carter's Country Wildlife Conservation College Scholarship
Carter's Country is funding a scholarship for seniors who are pursuing a career in the outdoor field -- wildlife or agriculture. Pick up an application in the Go Center, or go to their website and print it. Bring it to Mrs. White by May 17, 2019 and she will attach your official transcript and mail it before the due date.
119 The Texas Municipal Police Association Charities
The TMPA Scholarship is for children or dependents of TMPA active members. Check out all the requirements on the application in the Go Center, or go to the link below. Deadline to return all required documents to Mrs. White is May 20, 2019.
121 Minute Maid Grand Slam for Youth Baseball Scholarship
The GSFYBS is for college-bound seniors who have participated in an organized youth baseball OR softball program--see the information and qualifications page for specifics. You CANNOT be a a recruited prospective student athlete--see the qualifications for specifics. The application is a fillable pdf document. Fill out entirely, then print. Bring the application and required docs to Mrs. White by April 26, 2019. See the link below to begin.
132 Who's on First - DPHS Baseball Booster Club Scholarship
The Who's on First scholarship is designed to provide scholarships for DPHS seniors who have participated in DPHS baseball as a player, trainer, or manager their senior year. Participation is defined as being a rostered player, trainer or manager at the end of the baseball season. Pick up an application in the Go Center and return completed to the booster president or Mrs. White by April 15, 2019.
140 Bay Area Running Club
Bay Area Running Club is funding two scholarships for seniors who have run cross country or track and will be attending an accredited four-year college or university. Pick up application instructions in the Go Center. EMAIL your required documents to email@example.com by April 29, 2019 or bring your documents to Mrs. White by April 25 and she will email for you.
143 Asian Chamber of Commerce
The ACOC Scholarship is for academically-oriented seniors with 3.0 GPA (on unweighted scale) or higher who can demonstrate community service and/or employment. The application and required documents must be emailed to them! You can get the application/info in the Go Center or the link below. Email Mrs. White for your transcript: firstname.lastname@example.org Deadline to submit is April 30, 2019. (You do not have to be Asian to apply for this scholarship).
146 iGoPink Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors with a minimum 3.4gpa and who have a caregiver affected with breast cancer in the last year. For the rest of the requirements, go to the online application at the link below. The last day to apply is April 30, 2019.
147 Space City Charities
College-bound seniors with a 2.5 GPA or higher can apply for this scholarship--you must create a 2-3 minute video (you provide them with the YouTube link). See the website below to download the application or come pick up an application in the Go Center. Applications must be submitted by EMAIL. 148 Society of Women Engineers Scholarship Program
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial aid to young women preparing for a career in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. The incoming freshman application opens on March 1. It is an online application and you will be considered for all scholarships that you are eligible for. Some scholarships do require SWE membership. To apply and get all the specifics, see the link below. Deadline is May 1 for the freshman application. Create a profile and read, read, read!
149 Tilman B. White Scholarship
This scholarship is limited to those seniors who will go into education and become classroom teachers. Pick up an application in the Go Center, return completed to Mrs. White by April 23, 2019.
150 Ozarka "Every Drop Counts" Earth Science Scholarship
This scholarship is for seniors pursuing degrees in the field of earth/environmental science, such as Geology, Hydrogeology, Oceanography, Environmental Science and others. Pick up an application in the Go Center and return completed to Mrs. White by April 24, 2019.
151 Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes
The Barron Prize welcomes applications from public-spirited young people between the ages of 8-18. Must be a US citizen and currently working on an inspiring service project or have done so within the past 12 months. See the online link below for details and to apply. Deadline to submit is April 15, 2019.
152 Upakar Foundation - Indian American Scholarship
If you are a senior Indian American (either you or a parent was born in India) with a 3.6 or higher GPA, check out this scholarship. There are other requirements, so pick up the info and application in the Go Center, or go to the link below. Application with all required documents due to Mrs. White by April 26, 2019.
153 Deer Park FFA Young Farmers of Texas Scholarship
The FFA scholarship is open to seniors who've been in the Ag Science program at least two years. There are other qualifiers, so pick up an application in the Go Center and see if you are eligible. Apps are due back to Mrs. White by April 26, 2019.
155 DPHS Class of '88 Alumni Scholarship
The Class of 1988 has funded two scholarships for seniors of the 2019 DPHS graduating class! All you need is to have attended DPISD schools from elementary to this year. You must be planning on attending either a technical school, junior college or university upon graduation. Quick turnaround date for this scholarship -- due back to Mrs. White by April 15, 2019.
156 Vietnamese American Scholarship Foundation
These scholarships are available to senior students of Vietnamese descent. You must excel academically, be committed to community service and have a strong determination to carry through your goals.
