    Ryan Bright

    Varsity Coach
    Coach Bright is honored to be the head boys’ basketball coach at Deer Park High School. He is beginning his 8th year as a coach, his 7th in DPISD, and his first season as head coach. Coach Bright is a former DP basketball player who graduated in 2004. Afer high school he played basketball for Sam Houston State University where he holds degrees in Kinesiology and Curriculum and Instruction. He also played in the NBA D-League and overseas in Australia. He and his beautiful wife Jenny have a two-year daughter, Ella.

    Coach Madrigal is beginning his 9th year of coaching.  He is a graduate of Deer Park (1993), and former Deer basketball player (1st Team All-District 22-5A, 1993) where he was coached by his mentor, Billy Carlisle.  Prior to coaching he served in the U.S. Marines and was a police officer.  He is married to Tanya Rocha Madrigal and together they have three children; Ariana, 22, Alia, 17 and Andrew, 16.

    Coach Aguilar is beginning his 16th year of coaching. He is a former graduate of Deer Park High School. He is excited to bring his strong work ethic to the basketball program and is honored to work with his fellow staff. He is a graduate of SWT in San Marcos. He is married to Sandra and they have four children:  Miranda, 20, Michael, 16, Ana, 8 and Mya, 2.

    Coach Cox is beginning his 12th year of coaching here at Deer Park High School. He grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 2002. After high school he attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2007. He is married to Whitney and they have twins (boy and girl): Logan and Kamryn.

    Freshmen A Coach


    Coach Fletcher is beginning his 8th year of teaching and is excited to begin his first year of coaching high school after coaching at Deepwater the past two seasons. After graduating from Deer Park in 2004, he continued his playing career at Weatherford Junior College and at Mary Hardin Baylor where he received a  Bachelors and Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. He and his wife Brittney are thrilled to welcome their first child this January.

    Coach Hrncir is beginning his 14th year in education and third here at Deer Park.  He teaches PE and coaches football and basketball.  He is married to Amber and they have two boys,  Noah (7) and Kade(2).  



     Doug Bull








    Doug Bull
    Strength & Conditioning Coach

    Doug Bull just finished his 14th year as Deer Park's District Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. He brings with him over 20 years of strength and conditioning experience ranging from Jr. High School to Division I athletics. Including coaching stops at Northern State, Fort Hays State, Illinois State, and The United States Naval Academy.

    He left the college coaching ranks to come to Texas where he would have opportunity to help a greater number of young people reach their athletic goals. Since arriving at Deer Park, he has helped to change the culture of the District in regards to strength and conditioning. He is currently responsible for the training and scheduling of over 950 high school athletes from 13 different sports.

    In addition to creating development programs for all of his high school athletes, he also started a Summer Training Program for the Jr. High athletes. As well as revamping, the Jr. High training programs to help ensure the development of proper movement patterns by all of the Deer Park athletes in hopes that it will lead to the prevention of injuries and an increase in athletic success.

    He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Master's Degree in Exercise Science. He is certified as a specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a Level 1 Coach through the United States Weightlifting Association. He is nationally recognized for the work he is doing to promote training secondary athletes and has served as a consultant in the creation of over a dozen full time strength positions statewide. He regularly performs district-wide in-services across the region to help districts with the implementation of a progressive athletic development model.

    He currently is serving as the Southwest Regional Director and founding board member for the National High School Strength Coaches Association.

    Troy Ramsey begins his 2nd season with Deer Park Strength and Conditioning. Ramsey has had previous stops at the University of Pittsburgh (2016), University of Arizona (2013 & 2015), University of Colorado (2012-2013), University of North Texas (2005-2012) as well as being the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory (2014-2015). Coach Ramsey and his wife Paula have two children, Austin and Vivienne.
