The following information is being shared with parents and employees this morning using our emergency communication system.
THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD.
School will take place according to our regular schedule today, Sept.19, for all DPISD schools and facilities *except Parkwood Elementary (see below).
The safety of our students and employees remains our highest priority. With that in mind, District representatives participated overnight in conversations with county emergency officials, who indicated that the worst of the rain and flooding has passed. We gladly depend on their expert advice, and they stated that the weather should have a minimal impact on our area.
District employees have also driven through the most flood-prone areas of the District this morning and have found no significant flooding.
We look forward to a successful instructional day!
FOR PARKWOOD ELEMENTARY PARENTS:
*School is canceled for Parkwood Elementary students for today, Sept. 19.
THIS CANCELATION ONLY APPLIES TO PARKWOOD ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.
In spite of continued work by repair crews, Tuesday’s power issue remains unresolved, and Parkwood is still without power.
Parkwood employees should report for duty today morning at the District Education Support Center.
Power has been restored to Deepwater Junior High, Deepwater Elementary, and the Early Childhood Center, which were affected by a separate, unconnected power issue Tuesday.
