About Me!
Hello there and welcome to my page! My name is Marty Hooks and I am a 2nd grade teacher here at DPE. This will be my fifth-year teaching at DPE but my 16th year of teaching. I am so excited to be working at the absolute best school! I love second grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have! Teaching is my passion and I look forward to spending this year learning and growing with your child.
I graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School, and I continued my education at Lamar University. It was in college where I met my husband, Tobey! We have four amazing children, Tate, Emma, Ella and Colt. Tate is a senior at DPHS South, Emma is a 9th grader at DPHS North, Ella is a second grader here at DPE and Colt is 4 years old. We also have a 9-year-old black lab named Lucy! There is definitely never a dull moment in our house:) We spend a lot of our time at the baseball fields and volleyball courts watching our kiddos play sports. Tate is on the DP varsity baseball team and Emma is on the DP JV volleyball team. (GO DEER!!!) Emma also plays club at Houston Stellar. Ella plays volleyball as well. When we are not on a field or court, we love to travel and explore different places. We also love going to the lake and the beach.
I am looking forward to a new year filled with educational opportunities that will guide my student's growth. It is going to be a great year!
