Perry Weather Information

DPISD

Deer Park ISD has installed a new Perry Weather outdoor warning system with an integrated weather station at the South Campus. The updated system features the latest technology and is significantly louder and clearer than the previous system. Four speakers now provide full coverage for Abshier Stadium, the tennis courts, and the grass practice fields, ensuring the system can be clearly heard across all outdoor athletic and extra-curricular areas at the South Campus.
DPHS Perry Weather
  • The on-site weather station captures conditions in real-time on wet bulb globe thermometer (WBGT), lightning, precipitation, wind, and air quality.

  • When weather conditions meet policy thresholds, automatic alerts are sent through the outdoor warning system and the Perry Weather app.

  • Forecasts are available for potential weather risks that may impact outdoor activities, including professional analyses from Perry Weather’s meteorologist team to assist with activity planning.

  • The audible tone alerts are similar to, but distinct from, the alert system currently used by the City of Deer Park.

  • The system includes integrated public address capabilities for providing additional instructions or information.
The outdoor warning system activates when lightning is detected within 8 miles.
