COVID-19 UPDATE - March 20, 2020
THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:
We are excited to announce that Deer Park ISD’s at-home instructional program, eLearning, will begin on Monday, March 23. That day, teachers will contact students and parents regarding how they can access instruction during the ongoing school closure. Students in prekindergarten-fourth grade will use the SeeSaw learning management system, and students in fifth grade-12th grade will use the Canvas online platform. For instructional questions, students in grades 5-12 should use their District Outlook account to communicate with the teacher. Parents of students in grades PreK-4 should email their teacher.
This is an entirely new process for offering instruction to our students. Just as the situation in our community and country changes frequently, we expect that eLearning will evolve in the coming weeks. For now, the process might not be perfect, but we assure you that it is our best effort. We look forward to refining the program as we learn how best to meet your child’s needs in this changing environment.
We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and support. Our hope is that the coronavirus situation improves, but we are also preparing for the possibility that eLearning could remain our only instructional option for as long as is necessary. At this point, there are so many unknowns, but our focus remains on providing quality instructional options for our students.
We have also created a Coronavirus Response Frequently Asked Questions document that addresses many of the concerns that have been shared by parents and community members. You can access the FAQ at: www.dpisd.org/coronafaq/.
