I love being the principal of San Jacinto Elementary. I am passionate about instruction as well as helping teachers and students continue growing. My door is always open if you have questions or concerns you would like to share.
I graduated from Aldine High School and earned my Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University. I hold teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. In 2007, I earned my Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas and then completed my superintendent's certification, through Region IV, in 2010. It is one of my core beliefs that educators model should lifelong learning for their students. If we are not learning, we are not growing.
I grew up in the Aldine area in North Houston, but have been in Deer Park since 1991. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, James, for 32 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Madeline, as well as an amazing son-in-law, Kyle. They all graduated from Texas A&M University and Madeline has come back to Deer Park to begin her career as a Jr. High ELA teacher. I have been blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Lillian, who is the light of my life! I have two dogs, Winnie and Sadie and five grand-dogs, Mia, Lucy, Leia, Molly, and Tanner. I also have guardianship of my brother, Jimmy, who has Down Syndrome. We are all very active supporters of the Deer Park Fireballs, the adult Special Olympic program in Deer Park.
