The following message is being sent to all parents and employees today using the District's Skylert communication system.
THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:
All Deer Park ISD schools will resume our regular schedule today, Sept. 23.
This morning, the District participated in another conference call with the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, and officials advised the District that the worst of the storm has passed. Intermittent rain is expected to continue through this afternoon, but it should not have a significant impact on the District.
As always, the District remains in contact with emergency officials and will share any changes in our plans with parents and employees if new information becomes available. These decisions are not made lightly and are always based on two criteria: student and staff safety and the best information available from the experts. Often, officials share details with school districts before they reach the public. Of course, when tropical storms or hurricanes are concerned, no forecast is certain. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
