Deer Park ISD Parent and Family Communication Translation Procedures

Campus Level Translation:

Based upon the district Home Language Survey counts, any campus who has a home language consisting of Fifteen Percent (15%) or more of total campus students, shall translate all parent and family communication documents into that said language.

For the 2022-2023 school year, the following campuses meet the above‐stated criteria for translation of all written parent and family communications into Spanish:

  • North Campus
  • South Campus
  • Wolters Campus
  • DWJH
  • DWE
  • SJE
  • PWE
 

There are certain other documents that shall be translated by all campuses without regard to their Home Language Survey counts.

All campuses must translate the following document:

  1. Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) – for 2022-2023. The district will contract with Plan4Learning to translate all the CIPs and will pay for this translation.

All Title IA campuses must also translate the following documents:

  1. Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFE) – for 2022-2023. Each campus is responsible for their own translation.
  2. School Parent Compact – for 2022-2023. Each campus is responsible for their own translation.

Each campus will have staff availability to translate oral information for parent and family communication.


District Level Translation:

  • The District Improvement Plan (DIP) shall be translated into Spanish.
  • The District Parent and Family Engagement Plan shall be translated into Spanish.
  • School Status messages shall be translated into Spanish according to the results of the Home Language Surveys.
  • The district will have staff availability to translate oral information for parent and family communication.
