Active Substitutes: If you are an active substitute in our system, the Continued Substitute Form will be sent out each May. If you complete and return the form by the deadline, your substitute profile will remain active in Frontline. You will be able to begin substituting at the beginning of each school year and no further action is required.
New hire substitute applicant groups will be processed in cohorts during various times throughout the school year.
Requirements:
Substitute teacher- minimum of 30 College hours (must provide/upload transcript)
Substitute paraprofessional- High School diploma (must provide/upload diploma)
The substitute application for NEW SUBSTITUTES will be available from 11/1-11/7 and then again during the first week of each EVEN month in 2026.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply during that designated timeframe. The district will process the first 25 qualified applicants during each hiring period.
Once a completed application is submitted, the applicant will receive an email notification from Frontline confirming the submission. The applications will then be processed in the HR department and eligible applicants will be notified directly via email/phone to set up a time to come in person to complete the new hire process.
Please be advised that all applicants will be required to complete and clear the required TEA fingerprinting and background check prior to the hiring process being initiated.
After applications, credentials and background checks have been reviewed, qualified applicants will be sent a Frontline hiring packet to complete and submit to the department within 1 week.
Once all required forms are received in the system, you will be notified to schedule an in person appointment to discuss district policies and to provide the final documents needed to complete the hiring process. After the in person meeting, substitutes will then be provided a link from Vector Solutions to complete a series of mandatory training videos.
PLEASE NOTE: Failure to complete the onboarding paperwork, mandatory fingerprinting and in person meeting within the designated timeframe will result in the applicant being removed from the substitute employment system. Those individuals will need to reapply during the next application window.
Deer Park ISD utilizes the Frontline substitute system which provides a mobile application that makes it convenient for substitutes to view and secure job vacancies that will accommodate their personal work calendar.
The HR department periodically reviews the number of jobs fulfilled by active substitutes. Substitutes that do not accept at least one job per semester will be removed from the system and their account will be deactivated.
