Registered Apprenticeship Program (EnrichED Pathways)

Deer Park ISD created its own pipeline for aspiring educators by launching a unique teacher apprenticeship program in the Fall 2024 for a multitude of positions that will provide hands-on experience in our K-12 classrooms.

Designed to attract and assist aspiring teachers for employment, the apprenticeship program will pair successful applicants with experienced mentor teachers while they complete a degree and certification requirements, and earn valuable on-the-job educator training.

The goal of the apprenticeship program will be to support developing teachers throughout, or up to four years of education. Apprentices, or resident educators, will receive on-the-job training so when they enter the classroom as a teacher, they will not only have a degree and certification but also enhanced pedagogical skills.

****Applicants must attach a current resume, letter of recommendation specifically written for the Apprenticeship program and updated college transcripts in order to be considered for the program. Applications that do not include these 3 required items will not be considered.

The application for the 2026-2027 cohort will be available online from Monday, April 6-10, 2026 for internal candidates only.  The district is looking to add a limited number of candidates into On-ramps1, 2 and 3 only (this would include individuals currently employed with the district that have earned some college credits up to 60 hours or have earned a conferred Associates degree) These college credits must be transferrable from an accredited university.
